Basil: Basil contains Vitamin A and C and rich in minerals like calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorous and potassium. Basil has many medicinal values. Basil is used in the treatment of dizziness, nausea, stomach cramps, vertigo and constipation. Basil is also available as basil oil used in the treatment of cuts and insect bites. Basil is also an excellent remedy for bronchitis and colds.
Bay Leaf: Bay leaf is rich in minerals like calcium, magnesium and iron. Also contains vitamins A,B,C and E. Bay leaves helps in detoxifying the system. They are also used in the treatment of indigestion problems. Bay leaves can be used to treat stress and anxiety. Bay leaf is also available as bay leaf oil which acts as an good antibacterial agent. Spread some crushed bay leaves in the kitchen to remove household pests.
Mint: Mint leaves contains calcium, phosphorus, iron and vitamins like A, C and E. Mint leaves are used in the treatment of the following:
Indigestion
Colic pain
Heart Burns
Flatulence
Nausea
Headaches
Mint leaves also acts as a good appetizer. Peppermint tea can be given to soothe a dry throat. Mint is available as mint ointment which is good for headaches. Mint is also widely used as flavour for toothpaste and mouthwash.
Dill: Dill contains nutrients like calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, phosphorous and vitamins like A,C and E. Dill is an effective appetite stimulant and helps to stimulate milk in nursing mothers. Dill is also used in the treatment of colic, flatulence and indigestion.
Parsley: Parsley contains essential nutrients like Vitamin C, calcium, chlorophyll, magnesium and vitamin C. Parsley can be given to anaemic patients as it helps to improve the blood quality. Parsley helps to improve digestion and is effective is reducing the blood pressure.
Oregano: Oregano is rich in calcium, iron, potassium, phosphorous, magnesium and vitamins like A and C. Oregano is very much recommended for cancer patients as it acts as an effective anticancer agent with its antioxidant and anticancer properties. Oregano also helps to remove intestinal parasites and can be used by people with indigestion problems. It is also very effective to treat nausea and diarrhea.

Medicinal herbs and its uses
I love writing and i have put in hours together to create this blog and write about various home remedies. I worked in the medical industry for 12 years. I right now work as a volunteer for an NGO with a vision to empower the underprivileged children in government schools. I also work among the youth and counsel them on various issues.
